Learn, Laugh and Live!

Welcome to Sudbury U3A

Sudbury U3A was formed in early 1989 with around 30 members; that number has grown steadily over the years so that today our membership is now approaching 900!

Our aim is to ensure our U3A embraces the U3A ethos of Learn, Laugh and Live and that our members have access to the informal learning and many activities available regardless of impairment or disability, ethnic origins etc.

You will find details of our Committee members and Trustees for 2020/2021 under the Committee link. There are various links on the website which will take you to useful information.

At this time, we are in the middle of the Coronavius crisis so we are unable to pursue our usual events and activities, some of which are listed below. I do hope however, you will be able to see what we offer in the normal course of events and that you will find it interesting enough to join us when this crisis over!

We currently have just over 80 interest groups. Why not explore the groups which are available? Details of current groups are on the website and U3A Membership card. If there is something you are interested in and which is not currently listed, why not form your own group? Our Groups Coordinator, is here to help you. Jennie can be contacted on: 01787 373684 or email:

You will find up to date news in our newsletter, Sudbury U3A News, commonly known as Su3an - this is published every 2 months. You can read current and previous versions by clicking on the Su3an link above.

Here are a couple of our usual events, obviously postponed at present:

Monthly Speakers Meeting

Held on the 4th Tuesday of each month, we meet at Sudbury Rugby Union Football Club, Whittome Field, Spicer Way, Great Cornard, CO10 0GB.
Meetings start promptly at 10.00 a.m. and we have a different speaker each month providing talks which cover a wide range of topics. Coffee and tea is available immediately after the end of the meeting giving everyone the opportunity to chat with each other, ask questions etc.

Monthly Coffee Morning

The coffee mornings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. We meet at The Friends Meeting House, 22 Friars Street, Sudbury. CO10 2AA. All current, new and prospective members welcome. Please come along - you will have an opportunity to meet some committee members and other U3A members in a relaxed atmosphere. You can find out more about the organisation, group activities on offer - or just sit and chat!
Start time: 10.00 a.m. finish around 11.30 a.m.

We look forward to meeting you in the very near future!
