Learn, Laugh and Live!

Welcome to Sudbury u3a

The u3a movement is a unique and exciting National organisation which provides, through its local u3as, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery.

It is local, social, friendly and low cost.

Sudbury u3a was formed in 1989 with around 30 members; that number has grown steadily over the years so we now have around 800 members – but we still have room to grow!

Our aim is to ensure our u3a embraces the u3a ethos of Learn, Laugh, Live and that our members have access to the informal learning and many social activities available regardless of impairment or disability, ethnic origins or diversity.

Throughout the pandemic our u3a has continued to operate within legal guidelines and by the use of virtual technology such as Zoom. As we begin to come out of the Covid-19 lock down Sudbury u3a is prepared with a full programme of speakers scheduled for the next year and almost 80 interest groups.

Please explore our website to find more details of our activities. We have a bi-monthly newsletter Sudbury u3a Newsletter known as Su3aN. Current and previous issues can be found by using the Su3aN link at the top of the page.

If you would like to join Sudbury u3a you can find out how by clicking on the Blue CONTACT button at the top of this page.
