Architecture Group
The 2019 trips and talks for the Architecture Group are now available from Jane Crumpton-Taylor 01787 460277 mobile 07491 690510
Please contact Jane for more details.
Anne Grimshaw gave two great talks in April about Belle Vue house and the Sudbury Corn Exchange.
On 7th May we are taking the bus to Colchester for two specially tailored tours round the town centre and the old garrison area, focusing on how buildings have been converted to new uses.
On 4th June there is a car share trip to Maldon with 3 more historical tours, Beeleigh Abbey, the Moot Hall and the Plume Library with the Maeldune Centre below it. Then Jane will take those still standing for a walk looking at developments beside the river.
The 2nd July trip will be to Haverhill; a tour of the overspill estates and some of the other "interesting" residential developments with Jane.
We are in the early stages of planning the 6th August trip to Newmarket. Plans include tours of Palace house museum and art gallery, Tattersals and a town walking tour.

A third writing group will be starting on February 18th at 3pm and then meet on the third Monday of the month at the same time.

Would you like to be a deputy editor?
We are looking for a deputy editor for SU3AN, primarily to step in, if I cannot produce an issue at any time.
You would need to have a publishing programme on your computer and I would be happy to talk to you about what is required.
For anyone who is familiar with a publishing programme it would be a straightforward task, basically transferring text from
Word documents to your publishing programme and editing where necessary.
Please contact me on heavenly if you might be interested and would like to discuss further.

Transport Rugby Club for Speakers Meetings
We are concerned that some members find it difficult to attend the monthly speakers meetings at Sudbury Rugby Club as public transport is very poor.
The committee are considering if in conjunction with GoStart Community Transport it would be viable to organise transport for members who wish to attend but lack of their own transport.
Initially we are looking at a mini bus making a pick up from the centre of Long Melford and Sudbury and return.
The U3A would guarantee to GoStart the payment of the cost of the service and would expect to make a low fixed charge to members regardless of how many were on the bus.
Whilst we are at this stage only thinking of Long Melford and Sudbury for pick up, consideration could be given to other pick up points if there were sufficient demand.
If this would be of help to you perhaps you would contact myself or Anita Floodgate either by phone or email.

Do you have a new idea for a group, or a one off study day? Great, but before we announce it to members it has to be cleared by the committee.

This is to protect you,our members, and ensure you are covered by our insurance but also to ensure the proposal is in line with the U3A objectives.

We are always willing to help share in your ideas and plan for success, so please talk to the Groups Coordinator about your plans.

Want to join a Group? There are a few places in Wednesday mornings Table Tennis group.

If you would like to go on the National U3A mailing list for events - please see the Link alongside this page.
