The 2nd July trip is to Haverhill. It is a car share and we have spaces. This will be an excellent day out looking at this sometimes over-looked town. No fees, just your contribution to fuel and refreshments of your choice.
6th August - Newmarket with a tour of Palace House, museum and art gallery, the town and Tattersalls, and yes, there will be some horses too. This is an all day car share, meeting at Newmarket at 9am. Cost is £28 excluding travel and food.
3rd September - we are going to Bury St Edmunds by bus for a look at the architecture (there is of course lots of it so we will be selective). Cost tba, there will probably be a morning and an afternoon tour with a break for lunch.
1st October - Norwich, probably by train. The tours are in course of arrangement but we hope to include The Great Hospital, St Martins, the market, Guildhall, Forum, Pablo Fanque House, Wensum Lodge, and Dragon Hall. Lots to see and much of it may be new to you!
5th November -back to the Friends Meeting House in Sudbury for our winter talks, starting with Most Hated Buildings

A third writing group will be starting on February 18th at 3pm and then meet on the third Monday of the month at the same time.

Transport Rugby Club for Speakers Meetings
We are concerned that some members find it difficult to attend the monthly speakers meetings at Sudbury Rugby Club as public transport is very poor.
The committee are considering if in conjunction with GoStart Community Transport it would be viable to organise transport for members who wish to attend but lack of their own transport.
Initially we are looking at a mini bus making a pick up from the centre of Long Melford and Sudbury and return.
The U3A would guarantee to GoStart the payment of the cost of the service and would expect to make a low fixed charge to members regardless of how many were on the bus.
Whilst we are at this stage only thinking of Long Melford and Sudbury for pick up, consideration could be given to other pick up points if there were sufficient demand.
If this would be of help to you perhaps you would contact myself or Anita Floodgate either by phone or email.

Do you have a new idea for a group, or a one off study day? Great, but before we announce it to members it has to be cleared by the committee.

This is to protect you,our members, and ensure you are covered by our insurance but also to ensure the proposal is in line with the U3A objectives.

We are always willing to help share in your ideas and plan for success, so please talk to the Groups Coordinator about your plans.
