French Conversation (2)
We are currently working from articles in La rendezvous française; looking at the regions in turn. Members contribute to sessions by describing their activities and bringing articles and advertisements from the French press which illustrate changes in the culture and language. We are reading our third literary work Lettres de Mon Moulin by Alphonse Daudet and occasionally we listen to Michel Thomas CDs, watch DVDs and attend productions of French classical plays.
We are now in our tenth year, with two of the original members. Four members participate regularly in Spelthorne Friends of Melun activities, and two take part in their annual language school holiday in Brittany. We meet on alternate Thursday mornings, with a break in August and over the festive season. Meeting at one another’s homes limits the size of the group to 6 and we are currently at full capacity.
