The Creative Crafting group meets on the second Monday of the month at Paxmead Hall, Docket Eddy Lane, Shepperton between 10.00 and 13.30. Each month we do a mini workshop to make a little useful treasure using a different craft technique e.g. silk painted card, stencilled bag, beaded felt brooch, Japanese silk gift pouch etc.
We do not charge a joining fee but instead charge £4.50 per workshop which covers the cost of hall hire and materials. We supply all the materials for the workshop but expect members to have basic equipment like a basic sewing kit, decent craft knife etc. Tea / coffee and biscuits are also provided.
From September to June we do workshops, in July we do an outing and in August a cream tea party.
We ask members to book and pay for workshops in advance in order to have the funds to pay for the hall hire and pay for the materials that will be needed for the workshop.
The booking time for future workshops is between 10.00 and 10.30 at any meeting or by contacting the group leader, Lesley directly by email. The workshop is between 10.30 & 13.00 and clear-up time between 13.00 and 1.30pm. Attendees are expected to wash, dry and put away the coffee / tea cup they have used and help with the setting up and the clearing up of the room.
If you book and need to cancel, then a full refund or a credit to another workshop will be offered unless it’s within 3 weeks of the meeting and materials have already been purchased. In this scenario the member is welcome to collect the materials and instructions from the group leader’s house.
From September to June we also run, for those that are interested, a challenge. This year the challenge is making a sample patchwork quilt.
Everyone is welcome, no experience in crafting is needed – we spend more time laughing and chatting anyway!.
There are vacancies. If you are interested in joining our group, please contact the group leader via email by clicking on the bird in the box with the bird in it.
