From 1 April 2022, the government no longer provide free universal symptomatic and asymptomatic testing for the general public in England.
As recorded cases are no longer a reliable measure of Covid 19 cases in the community, the publication of the Covid 19 Infographic has ceased, with the final publication on 29 March 2022.

There was an Intelligence Summary published weekly, with a focus on Modelled Cases across the UK (via the ONS Infection Survey), hospitalisations, deaths and vaccinations. This publication ceased in March 2023 but the link has been left on this page for reference.

Testing for Covid 19

There are two types of test: Lateral Flow tests and PCR tests.

Lateral Flow tests can be obtained from some pharmacies, but they are no longer free of charge. They can be obtained free of charge by ordering online, but strict eligibility criteria apply. They are normally done in your own home.
