Computer Training Courses at Surrey Libraries
All Surrey Libraries offer a free three session basic course for beginners to Computing called Online Basics. The course is popular so there may be a waiting list. It is a computer based training course with members of staff on hand to assist when needed.
The first session is about the use of the mouse and keyboard.
The second session is a basic introduction to using the internet.
The third session is an introduction to using email. Each person will be signed up for a free email address.
The PC equipment to be used is provided by the library.
For more specific training and help Surrey libraries provide a Computer Buddy option, where free one-to-one help is provided. To book or find out more about either ‘On line Basics’ or ‘Computer Buddies’ please pop into your local library, or ring Surrey Libraries on 0300 200 1001.
Computer Training Courses in Staines Community Centre
Staines Community Centre runs individual one-to-one computer classes staffed by IT volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, either for complete beginners or for people needing extra help in certain aspects such as internet use or email. These can provide advice on all types of technology such as mobile phones, digital cameras, ipads, tablets as well as laptops, computers and printers. You can take your own equipment to the session. Each lesson lasts for one hour and costs £3.50. However, it is also necessary to be a member of Spelthorne Older People’s Services. Membership costs £15.00pa but this also gives access to many other additional activities and courses.
