The intention of this newly formed group is to visit various Gardens throughout the year as well as Members hosting OPEN GARDENS
Meetings will not necessarily meet on the same day of the week each month to give people who belong to other groups the opportunity to take part.
Most of the places the group plan to visit have facilities for coffee & snacks and sometimes, lunch.
Members will be notified of the exact details of each visit at either a Core Meeting just before or by e-mail.
Visit to Baddesley Clinton on Friday 13th!
Last Friday, 13th March, just before the big lockdown, 12 of us (would have been 14 if 2 members hadn't gone to Packwood instead!) met in the restaurant at Baddesley Clinton for coffee - and in some cases- bacon or sausage baps -and then enjoyed a stroll around the grounds admiring the camellias, daffodils, primroses, hyacinths, hellebores and the well-laid out and carefully tended new kitchen garden.
Some of us walked up to the little Church and were treated to a brief history of the Ferrers family by one of our members who happens to be a volunteer guide at Baddesley! A few went back to the restaurant for lunch while the rest of us made our way home. I think we would have stayed longer if we had realised it would be the last time we were able to socialise before we would all become confined to barracks. So in a way Friday 13th turned out to be a lucky day in a way - although not for Tony & Trisha, who were patiently waiting for everyone to turn up at Packwood House!
