The "Spanish Intermediate Group" meets every Monday at 10:30am at Sharman's Cross Pub with the aim of studying, learning & improving our Spanish. Each member of the group takes it in turns to be in charge of choosing the topic for discussion for that week, which over the course of the last year have included such topics as climate change, travelling through Peru and the Jamaican way of life.
The Group now has 14 members. This is a Widney U3A Group which welcomes members from other local U3A groups. It meets every Monday morning and once a month stay after our meeting to have lunch together. It makes full use of online resources to improve our knowledge of the Spanish language and have just finished reading a novel specifically written for intermediate level students - a book by Juan Fernandez - Una Chica Triste.
The Group is made up with 6 of our Members & others from other local U3As over the West Midlands, Coventry, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton.
The Group is co-ordinated by Hilary Moss However, please contact Angela Callaghan for further information. My contact details are: email@example.com

Views of a visit to the group by Solihull Widney Chairman
"Although I have never studied Spanish I was able to understand quite a bit of the discussions. A smattering of Latin helps with languages I find!
The format of the morning was a description of what the Members had done during the week, followed by a press cutting in Spanish for translation & comprehension. After a brief coffee break the Members translated jokes supplied by John Cook & read the Spanish text of a book they are studying. They meet weekly. I was impressed with their fluency."
Members wishing to join should contact Angela Callaghan who will pass on details to the coordinator.
