"Six The Musical", Saturday, 2nd November:

19 of us met for lunch at the Abbey Hotel, Malvern, before a short stroll to the theatre for a hugely entertaining 75 minutes of entertainment. I confess that I was unsure as to what to expect: 6 "wives" telling the story of their marriage to Henry in a girl band style could have been a disaster; but I think we all came away energised by the six young women and the accompanying band. Buy the CD or download the music? I think not. Buy the T-shirt? Definitely not! However, the modern music was catchy, the girls sang and danced extremely well. They were full of energy for the full 75 minutes telling their stories in a witty way. The relationship between the "wives" was amusing and their tales were accurately told. The audience responded well and it was good to see so many young people enjoying live theatre and to note that we oldies were in a minority. "Six" is on tour and is coming to Birmingham in 2020. I can't guarantee you'll love it, but it will certainly be a different experience! Go for it!

Afternoon Tea at The Henley 23rd October 2019

A Vintage Afternoon Tea was attended by 18 Members at The Henley, Henley in Arden Golf Club on 23rd October. We were made welcome by the Staff and were treated to a splendid tea. No one had eaten Lunch so the elegant sandwiches with a variety of Afternoon Tea at The Henley fillings, scones with cream and strawberry jam, a selection of cakes and a white chocolate pannacotta were enjoyed by all. Doggy bags were provided for those who fancied an encore later! Vintage china crockery and a pretty decor helped provide an excellent atmosphere. The conversation flowed and a good time was had by all. Perhaps other Members will join us next time
