Interest Groups

Solihull-Widney U3A currently has 28 Interest Groups which cover a wide range of subjects. These Groups come and go as the interest waxes and wanes, some have been going for a long time but some may only last a short period to cover a specific interest or topic.

Each Group has its own programme and meetings are held in suitable meeting places which can include members' homes. See relevant Activity Group Page for more details. The Groups are self-financing and there may be a nominal charge to cover expenses such as printing costs, refreshments or room hire. The costs of visits arranged by specific groups or through the Interesting Places group vary depending on distances involved, entrance fees etc. These groups and visits are often arranged to suit members' interests, so please speak to a U3A committee member to discuss the possibility of starting new Groups or arranging new Visits.

Several Groups such as the Book, Photography, Science and Music Appreciation have held "VIRTUAL MEETINGS" via Zoom during Lockdown and these have been very successful in maintaining the interest and enthusiasm of the members but have now reverted to face to face meetings again.

Other Solihull U3As may welcome members from our U3A to join some of their Interest Groups' Activities if we do not cater for those activities ourselves (see link to right). Equally some of our own Interest Groups may be able to welcome members from other U3As where there is room.
