Poetry
This group, for those with an interest in poetry, meets once a month at the home of one of our members, usually at 2.00 pm on the third Wednesday, to read and discuss poems of the members' choosing.
Sessions can be “round robins”, where everyone contributes one or more of their favourite poems, or may have a theme: “Winter”, “The Sonnet”, “American Poets” etc. Parts of the sessions may be led by one or more of the members who may wish to concentrate on a particular poet, or a particular theme or style of poem.
The group is not about writing poetry but about exploring the rich legacy of poetry written in the English Language. No expertise or special knowledge is required – just an interest in poetry.
New members welcomed, to register an interest or to book a taster session, contact Patrick Cusack, the group coordinator, via the 'send a message' icon on this page.
