20th May 2020
1st July 2020

We are a very friendly group of mixed ability, and the classes are suitable for both beginners and the more experienced. Our instructors are Dave Rennie and Geoff O’Meara, who take the classes on alternate weeks, and the emphasis is on improving and maintaining flexibility, balance and core strength, breathing practise and self-awareness. All poses are adaptable and the instructors will demonstrate alternatives for anyone with reduced mobility. The atmosphere is very calm and guaranteed to make you feel pleasantly stretched, relaxed and stress-free by the end of the session!
New members are always welcome, spare mats are available for first-timers. You just need to wear comfortable clothing – leggings or loose joggers are ideal. It is advisable to bring a drink of water in warm weather. Sore Knees? We have a limited number of knee pads available upon request.
We can also offer the option of ‘Chair Yoga’: Floor poses can be adapted to be done seated on a chair for anyone who may have difficulty sitting or lying on the floor, a chair can also be used to aid balance when doing standing poses. This method can be really helpful for anyone who would like to try yoga but has resisted due to restricted movement or balance issues. See the photos for a demonstration of Chair Yoga.
If you are interested in joining the group, or would like to reserve a mat or knee pads, please contact Margaret Ford, the group coordinator, via the message icon to the right of this page.
