Film Group

These are groups whose events are open to all U3A members. Please check their group pages by clicking on the group name above for a schedule of their upcoming events.


Our u3a monthly meetings are 2.00 to 4.00pm on the fourth Thursday of the month in St Peter's Church Centre, Church Road, Glenfield, LE3 8DP and are a great way to learn more about our u3a. Lots to see, lively chat, informative and entertaining speakers and a free cup of tea / coffee!! You will be made very welcome.

Dates for your Diary
Fri Nov 4th On 4th November we will be organising a Coordinators meeting and lunch. This has been moved from 23rd August. Again, this is something we did pre-covid and want re-start it to say thank you to all our group coordinators without whom the u3a would not function. At this stage just put the date in your diary and we will be in touch with more details nearer the time.

Thu Aug 25th St Peter's Monthly Meeting - A Day in the Life of an Airline Pilot, Mike Moore
Mon Sep 12th On 12th September we are running a Walk in the Park event in Bradgate Park. This is another event left over from the 10th Anniversary. Most walking groups are taking park starting at different entrances to the park and meeting at the Deer Barn café for a BYO picnic. This event is also open to all members who might like to try out a walking group. There will be distances from 4 to 10 miles as well as shorter distances with the Nordic Walking, Natural History and Walking Through Time groups. Tue Sep 13th Theatre Group visit to the Little Theatre 7.30 - Black Coffee. This little known mystery will surprise and delight Christie fans …Hercule Poirot, with the help of Captain Hastings and Inspector Japp, is called in after the formula of the atom bomb is mysteriously stolen.

Fri Sep 16th On Friday 16th September we hope to run a new members welcome meeting. This is something we did pre Covid and we want to see if there is an appetite for this now, we are through the worst. Gill Speechley will be in touch shortly with full details.

Thu Oct 6th On the Thursday 6th October we are running a pub games evening with a Chinese buffet at The Bulls Head, Cosby. There are four games everyone will play – darts, dominoes, long alley and table skittles. Price £16-50. Thu Dec 15th We hope to hold a Christmas Bash showcasing the talents of our members. This will be on 15th December which is not our normal 4th Thursday in the month as this would be too near Christmas.
