Walking Group 3 meets on the 1st & 3rd Monday's of the month at 9.45am for a 10am start.
Members of the group are actively encouraged to take turns at organising and leading a walk of between 4 and 6 miles (preferably circular) and sourcing a suitable venue for refreshments during and/or after the walk.
This winter has been a very long one followed by a cold wet spring, the worst walking conditions since the group started several years ago. But whatever the weather the group keeps ploughing on through sunshine (rare), rain (frequent), sleet (occasionally) and snow (rarely) but – this yearly mainly mud!!
Only in exceptionally bad weather does the walk get cancelled... the walkers are a tough bunch, some walk with dodgy hips and arthritic knees and all chunter about the weather, but we always end up in a nice warm pub for lunch in high spirits (not the alcoholic type) looking forward to our next ‘challenge’.
Please contact Dot Hollins, the Group Coordinator, via the send a message link above for further information, if you wish to join the group or volunteer to lead a walk.
