Life after Lockdown.
We recommenced Flower arranging at the beginning of June following the Government Guidelines and Risk Assessments by both the Parish Council and the u3a.
Our first meeting had an attendance of 12 members and was welcomed by everyone as a way back to ‘normal’ life. The meeting is a great place to take two hours away from the home and relax and enjoy a bit of "you time" whilst creating beautiful arrangements to enjoy for the next week or two. Our group is very friendly and would welcome any new members both male and female who would like to have a go. No experience is needed and everyone is there to help you return home with an arrangement to be proud of.
This month, July, the group had been challenged to complete two designs of a similar appearance and as always came up with some fantastic work as you can see by the pictures.

Flowers and Foliage add colour and fragrance to our homes and bring joy and tranquillity to ourselves and visitors. Our group aims to teach members the skills to achieve beautiful arrangements encompassing a wide variety of styles both modern and traditional.
This year we have covered themes including, Easter and an arrangement called “Summer by the Sea”. We have also arranged flowers on a wine bottle, ideal for a gift and studied the colour wheel achieving designs using flowers both in contrast and harmony.
Members once again showed off their skills by entering arrangements into the Glenfield Gardeners show. We were pleased to achieve firsts, seconds and thirds in different categories. No trophies this year though.
As Christmas approaches we are going to tackle a Christmas hanging basket and our usual table arrangements to brighten our homes over the festive period. Why not come along and give it a go, No experience is necessary as the members have loads of that to share.
