Archaeology & Geology
We are a small and friendly group who meet on the 4th Monday of the month between 10:30 to 12:00
The next meeting will be on Monday 25th October 10.30 at the Scout Hut, Chinnor Our speaker will be Malcolm Potter. Malcolm lives in Chinnor and has been metal detecting for about 40 years. Malcolm will talk about his fascinating hobby, which includes metal detecting all over the UK and working on projects for TV. He will bring along some of his finds; this promises to be an interesting and informative talk.
Regarding Covid precautions, there is hand sanitiser just inside the door and I suggest we follow the general guidelines regarding masks i.e. masks to be worn except when sitting. Tea and coffee will be available.
As parking is very limited at the Scout Hall, it would be advisable to park in the neighbouring roads.
Our meetings are generally face-to-face with a guest speaker talking about some of the many aspects of Archaeology & Geology. We also encourage group members to participate by telling us their own experiences of the subject with photos and artefacts, and perhaps producing a presentation. The use of a data projector can be arranged if needed.
On joining, members will be asked to pay a small annual fee to cover room hire and any speaker’s fees/expenses. We would welcome any new members; experience definitely not a requirement, just a willingness to learn and participate.
