Walks Short

Short Walks have restarted

July 14th This afternoon there was a good turnout for a short walk from Hambleden Weir to 'The Flower Pot' for some light refreshment before returning to the Lock. Thank you Mavis and Tony for a lovely afternoon.

June 9th An interesting walk past “The Ship” pub at Cadmore End on the Stokenchurch to Lane End road, a 3½ mile circular walk with 3 stiles, 1 steep hill, mostly through woodland. Crossing the motorway (over a bridge), we headed towards Wheelers End towards Lane End, returning through woodland and fields back to our cars. Thanks to Mick for leading us.

Wednesday, May 12th at 2pm

Starting from Naphill Village car park, a goodly number of us set off along footpaths, through fields and woods to the edge of the common, out of the village to Hughenden Manor. The paths through the estate were at their spring best with bluebells featuring among an army of fresh leafy beech trees that looked stunning with rays of sunlight slicing through the foliage. With birdsong echoing through the woods, we made our way back at base when many retired to The Wheel for refreshments in the outside covered area. Many thanks to Jan Crompton for a lovely afternoon.

With restrictions lifted after 17th May, we will not need groups of 6 for our June walk

The Summer Programme runs from April to September 2021, all walks taking place on 2nd Wednesday of the month beginning at 2:00pm as usual.
