Self-help learning principle

The ethos of the u3a is participation not the conventional teacher/class relationship. The u3a has members who draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other but there are no qualifications to pass – it is just for pleasure. Learning is its own reward!

NEW GROUP BOARD GAMES!

Starting Monday 22nd April 14:00-16:00 at the Methodist Church, Station Rd Chinnor and thereafter the first Monday of the month 14:00-16:00 from 3rd June 2024. Come and join us and bring along Scrabble or any other board game with you which can be played with others and completed in 2 hrs. Suggestions for new groups

Other suggestions for groups have been Photography, Ballroom dancing, Scottish or Barn dancing, Table Tennis, Singing, Golf, Knitting/Crochet, Travel group and even Drone flying!!. Great suggestions! Is there anyone willing to come forward and offer any of these skills and teach others?

These are just some examples where personal knowledge can be a great help to others, and this is where the u3a comes into its own. We learn from others while we educate others. There is no limit to what we can achieve when we work together.

The First THIRSTY THIRSDAY was held on Thursday 11 April. It was very successful with over 40 people attending and the room was buzzing with conversation. The next event will be held on 9th May at 18:00 at the village Centre. Please come and join us. There will be music, drinks & nibbles and an opportunity to socialise and make new connections (for more information, click on the link opposite)

COFFEE MORNINGS

All coffee mornings will now be in the Lounge at the Village Centre at 10:00 on the second Friday of the month. Come along for a cuppa and a biscuit and meet new friends and some of the committee.

Anyone interested in setting up a new Interest Group should talk to the Groups Coordinator who can help with facilitating this. We hope you enjoy participating in the varied program and will be inspired to come forward and help!
