Chinnor & District

Canasta Group

The Canasta group meets twice monthly (2 nd and 4 th Tuesdays, 2-4pm) in Chinnor Methodist Church
Hall.

Canasta is a very sociable game, along the lines of Rummy. Many of the group played when it was
popular in their youth and with a quick refresher soon got into the game. It is easy to pick up and
beginners are welcome, often watching a session before joining in.

Group membership is restricted by the size of the room – it will accommodate a maximum of 20. It
is currently running at capacity but there is an active waiting list with a standby register, people
being invited to play when absentees create space!
There is a small charge to cover the cost of the room hire.
