Chinnor & District

Welcome from Peter, our Chair

Recognition of hard work
Welcome to Chinnor and District u3a. You might be wondering what the u3a is and what you could get from it? Let me explain. It’s a charitable organisation which promotes the benefits of learning in later life through self-help learning. No qualifications are looked for or offered. The learning takes place in our Interest Groups where we learn from and with each other. And in the meantime, we make friends and enjoy ourselves.

Interest Groups include Art History, Computer Technology, Gardening and Walking to mention just a few. We have a Monthly Speaker, Outings, Holidays and Coffee Mornings.

Chinnor u3a, like all others, is self-funded where subscriptions are kept as low as possible.

The Covid pandemic hasn’t shut us down. We are still open to live, laugh and learn. Where possible, we meet in person or hold our interest group meetings and external speakers virtually with Zoom. You don’t need your own Zoom account to join in at home

On this website you will can find:
• A list of future speakers on our forthcoming Events page
• A list of our Outings on the Outings and holidays page
• A complete list of our interest groups on our Interest Groups page
• If you want to know how Chinnor fits in with the wider u3a organisation read on. There is a list of events organised by the Thames Valley Network of u3as on our More Events page. The Network is formed of nearly 50 separate u3as in our area.

If you would like to join us, we would love to hear from you. All you have to do is complete an application form, first step is to Click membership application form and then follow the instructions on the form.
This website also has a Get in touch page where you can create an email for a member of the Committee.

You’ll be made most welcome and our reputation for being a friendly u3a will soon be confirmed.
