Art Appreciation
The Art Appreciation group meets at Bucknell Village Hall on the second Thursday of the month from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. The cost is £2 to cover the cost of the hall and tea and biscuits afterwards.
We have a friendly meeting covering varying subjects and formats e.g. an illustrated talk by one of our members, a DVD, a show and tell on a picture or object, always followed by discussion and tea and biscuits.
Members have a free hand to choose what or who to talk about. This makes for a varied programme, with talks on topics such as Artists and Gardens, Jenny Saville, Joan Eardley, Fauvism, John Singer Sargent, Salvador Dali - quite a mix!
We try to visit a gallery in the summer and last year a small group went to the Banbury Gallery to see the exhibition “Revealing the Human Form” which included some of Barbara Hepworth and Anthony Gormley’s work as well.
The group continues to grow but we have plenty of space to accommodate new members, who are always made most welcome. No prior knowledge is necessary, just an enthusiasm to find out more about artists you may like, or about someone, you may never have even heard of!
If you require more information, please contact us via the Group Co-ordinator on the Contacts webpage.
