Bicester U3A meetings: these are normally held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Clifton Centre in Ashdene Road, Bicester, OX26 2BH. But due to the current pandemic these are NOT taking place. Instead based on some successful trial runs during April we shall be holding virtual meetings in their place, and will be achieved by using ZOOM via the internet.
We plan to hold regular ZOOM chat meetings on the second Thursday of the month.

Some of the speakers planned for 2020 have been rescheduled for next year. The speaker for June, Terry Howey 'Folk Tales, Performances' will still go ahead using this ZOOM facility' see the 'Dates For Your Diary' below.

The highlight of the May meeting was the Quiz based on the 1950/1960s, this was achieved by using 'virtual teams' avoiding individuals answering on their own, and this took place using ZOOM. From feedback received this was considered a welcome success.

A coffee morning was held on 13th February 2020 in the Littlebury Hotel, Bicester. Our Chairman introduced the Committee members and talked about the U3A in general and the Bicester Branch in particular. Then our new members introduced themselves and talked about their interests. Some ideas were discussed which hopefully will lead to new groups being formed in the future. Coffee and biscuits were served and new members had the opportunity to mingle. Overall it was a very enjoyable morning. Another coffee morning will be arranged when circumstances allow.

Our Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 23th January 2020 with approximately 125 members attending. The AGM itself was followed by a short talk on 'Burnehyll Forest, Bicester by David A Jones. Tea and cakes followed.

The meeting in December 2019 was replaced by the Christmas Lunch. To see a report and photos from the event please click here Members Christmas Lunch 2019.
