VISIT TO THE ROYAL MINT 2019

We are arranging a trip to visit the Royal Mint at Cardiff on Friday 7th June. The cost for the trip will be £24 per person and the price includes transport, a tip for the driver, entrance to the Royal Mint Experience and a guided tour. NEW MEMBERS COFFEE MORNING - 2019

For members who joined after October 1st 2018 a coffee morning to welcome them was held at the King’s Arms Hotel in Bicester on the 15th March 2019. Fifteen new members were in attendance and was thought by the hosts to have given the new members a welcome and useful insight into the U3A. There were many questions from the new members and some discussions followed. In summary the morning was considered a success.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH 2018

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2018 "WEATHER"

There were 46 entries this time, less than usual, but the standard was very good and it was a close competition. 261 votes were cast at the November meeting. (87 voting cards issued with members being asked to vote for their three favourites) The results were announced at the Christmas Lunch. First place went to David “DJ” Jones
Our expert for this year was Richard Herbert and he awarded First place to Gill Barber.
Many thanks to all who entered and also to Richard for his expert scrutiny.

NEW GROUPS

Square Dancing this new group is to be held every Tuesday Afternoon at the Blackthorn Village Hall. The session will be from 2pm until 4pm. There has been an enthusiastic start to this group and a fun time was had by all. Newcomers will be welcome even non-dancers. Anyone interested in this group please contact the Group Co-ordinator via the contact page.

A new Beginners' Bridge group is scheduled to start this year. Sessions to be held weekly, day and time to be decided, and will be suitable for people with no, or very little, knowledge of bridge. The course usually takes about a year. If you are interested in joining the group please contact the Group Co-Ordinator on the Contact page of the web site.
