French Conversation
The French Conversation group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10.30 am. The aim of the group is to build on the French we have learned previously, most of us at school and the occasional holiday in France. Emphasis is placed on conversing in colloquial French and not on grammar.
Since the beginning of the Covid Pandemic we have met via Zoom. This has worked very well and, as a small group, is relatively easy for each member to speak freely. We continue to meet this way for various reasons, inter alia, the cost and time to travel to and from whoever might be hosting the meeting and who might not want too many members in a private house. As a small group this system has worked very well.
However, if the group increased in size (and this would be welcome) we may have to review how best to meet. Conversation varies from everyday topics to talking about recent events in our lives, e.g. holidays, Christmas, etc. As a group we do speak French for most of the meeting and help each other with vocabulary and tenses as and when needed!. Should anyone like to sit in on a meeting to see if they would like to join, they would be most welcome.
If you have any questions contact the Group Leader (details are on the programme card) or Group Coordinator are on Contacts web page.
