Arts & Crafts
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (except Bank Holiday Mondays) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Tesco's Community Room. Please note the change of venue!
The hall management clean the hall very well and we are all social distancing but on the consensus of the group, we are not wearing masks. We are keeping all the doors and windows open for good ventilation and sanitising our hands.
We are a group of people who like to try out different 'crafts' and sometimes identify one that we really like and continue within our own time.
It's great to find a new hobby. This is what it is all about, trying different things and finding a new interest that we may not have thought of before.
We make a lot of cards for different occasions, and jewellery using many different methods. We have made numerous bags of different shapes and sizes.
We try various 'paper crafts' which included the art of folding books. This is a craft that was learnt from another U3A member which proved enjoyable. The technique uses an old book and the pages are very carefully folded to a pattern to make an unusual decorative item.
The sewing machine comes in useful sometimes when a needle and thread would just take too long.
Silk painting and felt making are also amongst our many and varied activities.
Members keep coming up with lots of unusual and new ideas to keep us interested and promoting help within the group which is very much appreciated. We are such a clever 'crafty' lot at Bicester U3A.
New Members are always welcome. If you need more information, please contact Debbie (her details are on the programme card), or the Group co-ordinator.
