Arts & Crafts
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (excepting Bank Holiday Mondays) at 2pm - 4 pm in the Community Space at the new Bicester Tesco Store.
We are a group of people who like to try out different 'crafts' and sometimes identify one that we really like and continue with in our own time.
It's great to find a new hobby. This is what it is all about trying different things and finding a new interest that we may have never have thought of before.
We make a lot of cards for different occasions, make jewellery using many different methods, we have made numerous bags of different shapes and sizes.
We try various 'paper crafts' which has included the art of folding books. This is a craft that was learnt from another U3A member which proved enjoyable. The technique uses an old book and the pages are very carefully fold to a pattern to make an unusual decorative item.
The sewing machine comes in useful sometimes when a needle and thread would just take too long.
Silk painting and felt making are also amongst our many and varied activities.
Members keep coming up with lots of unusual and new ideas to keep us interested and promoting help within the group which is very much appreciated. We are such a clever 'crafty' lot at Bicester U3A.
Unfortunately the group is currently at capacity of the venue but if you are interested in joining please contact Joy Saville or the Group Co-ordinator via the contact page; to have your interest recorded.
