Classic Books I
We meet at Leadon Bank Craft Room, 1st Monday in each month, 2pm to 3.30pm with a tea break.
We have already decided on our book choices for the first half of 2019 and are all set for another interesting year of classic books.
Our group continues to flourish and we usually have a lively discussion about each book and the time period of its setting compared to the present century.
Classic Books II
Meetings are held monthly on the fourth Wednesday from 2:00 in the Craft Room at Leadon Bank.
We have read mainly 18th, 19th and early 20th century books (nothing newer than 1950-ish) but for 2019 we are moving the focus a little and will include books from 20th Century that we believe will become classics.
Our next 3 months books are:
November..........Brideshead Revisited ........Evelyn Waugh
January.............We will each bring a favourite book and tell everyone why we chose it.
At the moment we are not able to accept any more members.
Book Group 1
Meetings are on the 4th Thursday of each month, at 2:30pm in the Meeting Room at Leadon Bank.
We are currently reading:
November..........The Good Immigrant ........Nikesh Shukla
We are able to take more members.
Book Group 2
Meets monthly on the 1st Friday of each month at 2:30pm in the Leadon Bank Meeting Room
Each autumn the group decides on a reading list for the coming months.
We choose our books from the free Hereford library service and have lively discussions about that month's book. Our leader collects the box book set from Ledbury Library prior to our meeting, taking back the books read the previous month.
We are not able to accommodate any more members
