A group of U3A members have been volunteering in the Walled Garden in Ledbury since March 2014 when Herefordshire Council decided that they could no longer afford to maintain the flower beds there.
We work between March and November in two groups, one on Tuesday afternoons and the other on Friday mornings. Each group works on alternate weeks so we work once a fortnight. We have no formal meetings, we just ‘work’! We learn from one another
Our borders in the Walled Garden were ‘put to bed’ at the end of October and we’ll be back working there again at the start of March.
In the September newsletter we mentioned that we had been judged by the Heart of England in Bloom in their category for ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’. We were pleased to have been awarded a Level 4 - Thriving certificate. We have already entered for the 2022 award.
We would very much like to have a few more members join us. Please let me know if you’re interested.
