Walking Group (Short Walks)
We meet monthly on 2nd and 4th Mondays AND/OR 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9.20am in the Homebase Car Park, for a prompt 9.30am start.
Seventeen members of the group travelled to Newent to enjoy an early autumn circular walk. We made a stop at the pretty Oxenhall church to take in the views across to May Hill and the old Lock Keeper's cottage. We continued along the verdant path bordering the old canal and its picturesque forlorn lock then returning to the Good News Centre Coffee House, by the public car park in the centre of Newent, for a well earned convivial coffee.
Our walks are 2-2.5 miles and on fairly easy terrain. We often walk on Ledbury footpaths, and sometimes share cars to go a little further afield. Afterwards, we generally finish at a cafe.
On Thursdays we tend to stay in Ledbury and perhaps walk along the river or on the Town Trail. On Mondays we are generally a larger group, so we share cars to drive a short way into the surrounding countryside.
This increasingly popular group now has a large number registered, but new members are welcome, so do join us - we're a friendly group!
