This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, 10:30 to noon in the Burgage Hall.
Blow the cobwebs away with a spot of Scottish Country Dancing. We are a friendly and informal group with emphasis on exercise and enjoyment of both dance and music.
The group is enjoying a lively term with such dances as The Leap Year Jig, The Merry Reaper, The Flying Scotsman (a favourite from last term) and The Brudenall Jig. We are trying to improve our performance of 'the wheel' and 'figure of eight', and our 'rights and lefts', with much hilarity. We walk through each dance (usually several times) before attempting it with the music. It is good exercise and we even get out of breath at times. We have great fun and such jolly music is a joy to dance to, with our leader calling the moves.
Don’t worry if you’ve not danced for ages - indeed no previous experience is necessary, just come and join us! We have space for you.
