We are a friendly and informal group who blow the cobwebs away with a spot of Scottish Country Dancing, the emphasis being on exercise and enjoyment of both dance and music.
We are taught by our very patient leader, who selects the music to go with specific dances. Members do not need to worry about remembering all the steps as we have lots of ‘revision’ before each dance. We are told to ‘just enjoy it, don’t worry if it goes wrong’ and this is exactly what we do. We can now all bow and curtsey at the beginning of each dance and can all do basic steps. Our dances are great fun; when we do not remember to turn in the right direction we are pulled (or should I say gently guided) by our partners and this usually ends in laughter!
We are looking forward to resuming these sessions as soon as it is permitted and safe to do so.
