Like many of us, you have probably wanted at some time or other to take better photographs – whether it be of your pets, friends, family or favourite places, on your phone or with your latest (or oldest) camera. That is the aim of the new photography group: to help and inspire its members to take better photographs.
Led by a retired professional photographer, we have members with all levels of experience, from those used to showing their photos at a camera club to those new to the game and wanting some pointers. The same principle – of helping to take better photos – is equally applicable to all.
We are meeting fortnightly and have enjoyed projects shooting reflections, innovative takes on Ledbury’s Tudor architecture, an evening outing to photograph the Ledbury Mop Fair and autum colours at Upper Hall. All have yielded some fabulous images, many of which are being shared on the web site we set up:www.photoledbury.wordpress.com.
Future sessions are planned with a focus on photographing people, wildlife and landscape as well as looking at and discussing classic photographs from past masters of the art.
We'll be working with a combination of practical outings, training presentations, group discussions, and reviews of your pictures -- all in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Although the group is at capacity, if you are interested in being on a waiting list, contact the Leader and also the Groups Co-Ordinator and leave your name. A second group may be started if there is enough interest.
