We bridge the gap between the Short Walking Group and Walking Group 1, so we walk between 3 and 4 miles at an easy pace.

We walk locally and sometimes travel up to 30 minutes away by car to vary the walks.

We have had a good spring season filled with interesting walks. As well as doing tried and tested and favourite ones, including through Dymock woodland admiring this year’s prolific daffodils, we also enjoyed new and memorable walks. Some were around Newent, across fields and down lanes in glorious sunshine, taking in the arboretum and llama farm and seeing the Malverns from a different angle. Some were in new territory to all of us, starting from the leader’s house in Ashleworth and passing the Tythe Barn, now owned by the National Trust, then finishing up back at the leader’s house for homemade biscuits and coffee. Sad, though to see the Boat Inn now closed.

We take it in turns to lead walks.

This group is growing in numbers, but we still welcome new walkers.
