Painting and Drawing
The Painting and Drawing Group meets on Tuesday afternoons, during term times, at Community House on East Parade, Harrogate. The sessions run from 1.30 to 3.30 pm.
We are a small but friendly group encompassing both those with experience in creating art and those who haven't picked up pencils or paints since leaving school. There is no formal teaching but those who can encourage and share their knowledge and skills with those less confident. We bring our own equipment, usually paper or sketch pads, coloured pencils, pastels or paints and work on on a small scale as space is limited. Sometimes we work to set themes agreed at the start of a term, such as Autumn Colour, Favourite Place or Still Life. Otherwise, we work on, and progress, individual projects of interest. For practical reasons, most people work from photos, magazine pictures or images of art works which inspire them.
Because of the room size, numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 but we keep a waiting list of those interested in joining and welcome enquiries as numbers attending do vary.
If you are interested in joining us or would like further information, please contact Sue Huskins (Group Leader) by email.
