I suggest we start the group meetings in September, 2023 but that we should meet up before then to discuss and decide how our group should operate. I had in mind it would initially number 8-12 people, we’d meet once a month on a fixed date and time and that one member of the group would examine a particular subject at each meeting: as I see it, the range of subjects is vast and is not confined to subjects such as the two World Wars e.g. the women's suffragette movement, the Cold War, the civil rights movement, the collapse of the Soviet Union, Myanmar (Burma). I also had in mind that whilst the meetings would be interesting and of educational value, we’d keep them informal and fun. But I’m not wedded to these ideas – we can decide amongst ourselves how we operate.
