Music to Share
As with Music Groups 1 and 2, the guiding principle of Music to Share will be the enjoyment of music and we will not actually perform music ourselves. Examples of music which might be shared include different types of classical music (chamber music, major orchestral works, opera, organ music, English music) and also jazz and blues, big band and music from different parts of the world. Our general theme is Music to Share without providing any limitation as to what type of music people want to share. This gives members the chance to find about different types of music and to listen to a variety of music in one meeting. A link has been set up, Music to Share notes about how to choose and identify music and also playlists for some of the meetings to give an indication of the range of music we have considered.
Members will be given every encouragement to contribute to the meetings - though the format of the meeting necessarily means that we normally take contributions from four members each meeting. In addition to choosing a piece of music to share, members may also, if they wish, provide some background, history or context to their choice.
