A visit to the Society of Genealogists in Central London has been arranged for Tuesday 28th August - full details of this are shown below. If you are interested in joining this visit, please email Sue Peach through the blue bird, right.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This interest group was first formed in 2004 with members interested in finding out about their families and their history.
We meet at the South Ealing Conservative Club, South Ealing Road, (opposite St Mary’s Church) on the last Friday of the month starting at 10.00am with coffee / tea and biscuits. We have no waiting list and you can be a complete novice or someone who can help others. (Donation £1.00 per person per session)

The meetings take several forms as follows: -
1. Workshops where we look at information and see what can be gathered from items as birth / marriage / death certificates, census and parish records, wills and local history.
2. Discuss our progress on our research and other members of the group will offer advice and help in gaining information. Members who may not have progressed with their research can often offer help to others.
3. Visits to places of interest where we help each other in researching records.

In fact you become a detective into your family history and general history of the time. My grandfather was in the workhouse at 9 years old. 4 x great-uncle crossed the planes to Salt Lake City in a wagon. What will you find out?

We close the Friday meeting at 12.00 and if you like you can stay for fish and chips.

Convener: John Deighton, tel - 020 8863 6640, or email through the blue bird above right
