CURRENT GROUP STATUS
The Group is now meeting again in person.
We now have 3 groups meeting monthly in Ealing Broadway (first Friday of the month) for an hour, one group at 10am, the second at 11am and the third at 12pm: we have coffee and talk French amongst each other. All three are open to all abilities, but currently the standard of fluency of the six to eight people who come regularly to each session is fairly high.
There is no set format – just a group of friends chatting about holidays, current affairs, and recent books read or films seen. As convenor, I remind people on our mailing list of the next meeting a few days beforehand, and try to keep the baton moving around so everyone gets an opportunity to chat, but otherwise there is little or no formality about the gathering.
Attendance varies so we are rarely fewer than four, or more than eight, which allows for enough to chat about and for us all to get a word in. We have introduced three separate sessions to keep the sizes manageable. All three sessions are now fully subscribed, but newcomers are always welcome to contact Maggie or the Interest Groups Co-ordinator Sue Peach, about the option of creating additional groups.
