CORONAVIRUS Epidemic and the Table Tennis Group
Based on the Government advice at the Prime Minister's press conference on Monday 16th March, the venue for Table Tennis sessions is currently CLOSED, due to the Coronavirus epidemic. The sessions on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays are therefore CANCELLED for the foreseeable future
This is because the advice now is that everyone should stop non-essential contact with others and adopt social distancing. People in ‘at risk groups’ are to be shielded from social contact for 12 weeks. People who should take particular care to minimise social contact are, among others, people over the age of 70.
Further information will be published on this page about when these sessions will resume.

In July 2018 we had a visit to our Thursday meeting, where we were shown a film of a 100 year old playing table tennis, and a brief talk about a new table tennis venue starting up in Acton.
Subsequently, 14 of our members went to their open day. Following that we agreed to go every week but owing to other commitments we split into 2 groups going on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The sessions have proved so popular that we now have all tables reserved exclusively for Ealing U3A on
- Tuesdays from 10am to 11am
- Wednesdays from 10am to 11am
- The cost is £5 per person per hour
Just turn up either day if you want to play.
In addition group coaching is available at 11am on Wednesday for an extra £5. Several of us have tried the coaching sessions and are finding them very helpful.
The sessions are at Old Actonians Sports Club, Gunnersbury Drive, W5 4LL. The entrance is under the cricket scoreboard. The people who run it have a website at Actonians Table Tennis
