We have been meeting on Zoom, for mutual support as much as crafting, but some crafting, including paper crafts and card making, assisted by youtube videos. We have tried one hybrid meeting with some members in person and some on zoom. We are planning to meet in a garden from June - weather and Covid regulations permitting.
We are full, as we meet in a home and space is limited.
Patricia, the convenor, would be very pleased to help other members to start a Crafts 3 if there is demand - email me via the blue bird above.
Crafts Group 2
The aim of the group is to meet to increase our enjoyment, knowledge and skills of crafts together. This group meets in a home so is limited to 10 members. Do get in touch if you might like to join us; the Waiting list currently: Three.
We usually meet in the morning of the 4th Monday in the month, 10am - 12 noon (not Aug or Dec); sometimes this is moved to another Monday. We meet in the Boston Manor area. We have occasional outings, e.g. Sunbury Embroidery gallery.
We discuss and encourage each other in individual projects and sometimes have a joint project. One joint project was to make some twiddlemitts for people in Ealing who are in the later stages of dementia. We used this to learn/improve our knitting and then our crochet skills.
Group members will share leading activities and topics will be adjusted depending on members’ interests.
Crafts we have performed so far have included: lavender wands, felt brooches, knitting, crochet, hammered flowers, Suffolk Puffs and book folding.
