Meets in the upstairs room at the Wesley Methodist Hall, St. John Street on the first Thursday in the month, 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Subjects are mostly local, mostly history, always social and there is tea, coffee, biscuits and/or cake. The charge is £1 because we pay rent for the room.
Contact: Kay Hall-Wilton
The next meeting is on Thursday, 6 December at the Wesley Meeting Hall, St. John Street at 2 p.m. when the Group will be given a talk with power point presentation on Chester 1929. I do hope all members will attend.
Sadly the meetings in October and November were so poorly attended that they were in effect called off. However, the room still had to be paid for. If the poor attendance continues the group will have to close. This would be very sad as it is one of the founding groups of Chester U3A, and was the first group to become a joint Chester and Cestrian group. Needless to say new members are very welcome, just ‘phone Kay Hall-Wilton (her ‘phone number is in the Group List leaflet).
In the hope that Local History can continue the following subjects are planned for the beginning of 2019.
|3th Jan||N||o meeting - too soon after New Year|
|7th Feb||Chester to Birkenhead Railway|
|7th March||History of the Wesley Methodist Church|
|4th April||History of Aston Hall and Hoole Hall.|
