Pickleball
The aim is to have fun, socialise and get fit in a way that is suitable for the age range of typical U3A members. Pickleball is a cross between table tennis and badminton. Played on badminton size court but with 3 foot high net, large table tennis type bat, a hollow plastic ball and is usually played as doubles; see the attached video.
It is a game ideally suited for the U3A age group where skill is the most important factor and you can be playing after just 10 minutes instruction. Comfortable clothing suitable for racquet sports should be worn whilst non slip soled shoes are a requirement. Equipment is provided, instruction given and your existing racquet skills are readily transferred to Pickleball.
We now play at Northgate Arena on Tuesdays at 2pm and in the summer outside at Westminster Park on Thursday mornings.
