Behavioural Psychology
Please note that this group is now named Behavioural Psychology
This friendly group concentrates mainly on Social Psychology using DVDs, video tapes and discussion. We have recently explored a variety of topics: OCD, Autism, Nature v Nurture, Trauma, how insight works and the acceptance of mental illness in the workplace. Members are invited to give presentations on aspects of psychology which are of interest to them. We meet monthly (3rd Thursday between 1030 and 1130) at Hoole Community Centre, Westminster Road.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month, at present at the Hoole Community Centre but are in the process of moving to other premises . I will update you when we do move.
We pay at present £12 per session, split between attendees, for the hire of the room, but our future venue will be free. We each take turns of doing a presentation on a previously agreed aspect of psychology and in future may have use of DVD equipment to allow us to show professionally produced documentaries and other technical stuff.
We presently have approximately 9 active members and are looking to take another few referrals.
We use email and texts to keep in touch with each other, and use meetings to prepare the agenda for the whole year, choosing what we want to take responsibility for learning about and presenting.
I hope that this will be enough information for you to get a flavour of what we are about – please ask if you need anything else
