Day/Frequency of meeting: To be agreed by new members
Time/Venue: To be agreed by new members
Preferred method of communication: Email
Convenor responsibilities: The person who selected the book title for the month will act as the meeting convenor. One week before the meeting, he/she will email members with a reminder of the meeting date/time/venue and the title and author of the book. At the start of each meeting the convenor will give a short synopsis of the chosen book and their opinion about its relative strengths and weaknesses . Other members will then be invited to join in the open discussion. There will be a tea break midway through the meeting. After the meeting, the convenor will email members with the title/author for the next month and who selected it.
Access to books: Members are responsible for acquiring their own copy of each book (potential sources are Barrett’s Book Shop, Wadhurst library, local charity shops, second-hand book shops such as those at Bayham Abbey, National Trust). Kindle versions from Amazon and used copies can also be bought online.
