In line with current Government guidelines it has been necessary for us to suspend our monthly Speaker meetings and social gatherings until further notice. However, the determination and ingenuity of our members has resulted in a number of groups either meeting out of doors or holding their meetings virtually via Zoom or similar software. These groups include Book Club, ‘Ukulele on the Patio’, ‘Six go Walking’, Health and Society, Modern Architecture, Yoga and virtual Wine Appreciation (this just goes to prove the saying ‘necessity is the mother of invention’!) Other groups are also exploring these methods of meeting which allows everyone to keep in touch until they can meet face to face again and Ken Turner continues to provide invaluable advice on the Gardening group page.

The June edition of our quarterly NEWS MAGAZINE was a special edition containing experiences of our members during isolation with members contributing articles and photographs. It is a time capsule which should be of interest in years to come. There are a few copies still available from Carillon Cottage – on the doorstep in a plastic covered box. Please do help yourself.
