Theatre
We have an active Theatre Group which runs mainly in the Winter months. We go mainly to Malvern Theatre and the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to see comedies, musicals, who-dun-its and anything which appeals.
If we go to Malvern we book a coach which gets us there in time to lunch in many of the restaurants available in Malvern itself. Because there is a reliable bus service to Cheltenham we leave it to members to get there under their own steam.

Theatre November 2022 and March 2023
I’m trying to restart the Theatre Group and I’ve come across two plays at Malvern which I hope members might enjoy.
The Darker Shores starring Juliet Mills, Maxwell Caulfield and Michael Praed. Matinee starts at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 23 November.
Story line is visitors arrive on the East Sussex coast and the troubled history of the house comes to the fore with unexplained and mysterious happenings. It’s listed as a ghost story.
Price is £43.70 each including transport to and from the theatre and driver’s tip. Deadline for booking is 24 September. I realise this is short notice but that’s the date the Theatre gave me.
Fisherman’s Friends, The Musical starring James Gaddis, Parisa Shamir, Robert Duncan and Susan Penhaligon. Matinee starts at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 22 March 2023.
Price £50.50 each including transport to and from the theatre and driver’s tip.
Deadline for booking is 20 January 2023.
We need a minimum of twenty people for each show as the Theatre gives us a discount of 25% per ticket. Anything less and the price goes up.
Don’t forget to tell me your pick up point when you book. Times are Highnam 11.00am, Castlemeads 11.10am, Brunswick Road 11.15am, London Road 11.25am, Royal Oak 11.30am and Top Shop 11.35am.
As usual, please make cheques payable to Gloucester u3a and send them to Ann Williams, 7 Lloyd Baker Court, Cornfield Drive, Hardwicke, Gloucester, GL2 4TN by the closing dates shown. Please send individual cheques for both performances.
