Horticulture group is for anyone who enjoys plants, from growing them to just enjoying looking at them. We meet at 10.30am on the first Wednesday of the month at Gloucester Guildhall, unless stated otherwise. Our speakers are informative and entertaining.

Wed Apr 3rd | Marie Tomlin (u3a) will talk to us about her visits to 'Flor og Fjaere', the Flower Island off the coast of Norway with photographs of flowers on the Island. Horticulture Group meets at the Guildhall Gloucester at 10.30 p.m. There is car parking above the Guildhall with access to the Guildhall via the lift. |
Thu Apr 18th | Travel and Local History Group visit to Owlpen Manor, with a guided tour of the manor house followed by a cream tea served in the Cyder Barn. |
Tue Apr 30th | Coach visit to Ragley Hall, Members to take packed lunch. PLEASE NOTE TUESDAY. A guided tour of Ragley Hall's magnificent staterooms, tea and coffee on arrival. Explore the gardens, stables and carriage collection at leisure. See booking form for coach details and cost of the day. |
Wed Jun 5th | Horticulture study visit by coach to the National Trust Hidcote Manor Gardens, nr Chipping Campden. The gardens are divided into a series of outdoor 'rooms'. There is a restaurant, seating, toilets, shop and plant centre. Gardens are 80% accessible for wheelchairs. Cobbled paths may be slippery when wet. The coach leaves at 9.20 a.m. various pick up times, returning at 3.30 p.m. Please see the booking form for further details. |
Wed Jul 3rd | Horticulture Group study visit by coach to the National Trust Knightshayes Court, nr Tiverton, Devon. The Gothic Revival House is set in parkland, with an outstanding botanical collection. Other features include a water garden, walled garden. The Stables Cafe serves hot and cold food, seating and toilets. The coach will depart at 9 a.m. various pick ups. Returning at 3.30 p.m. Booking form available from Horticulture Group. |
