Electronics & Robotics
New slot - FIRST Friday of the month.
New title : Electronics & Robotics
“Oh no, I can't do that”. “It's Science. I was never very good at it”.
Over the years we have become more and more surrounded by electronic items. Electronics is not difficult, it is just something we take for granted, but should we?
Come and develop a better understanding of basic Electronics – Voltage, Current, Resistance, Ohms Law, Parallel, Series, Circuit, Polarity, and practical skills in using a multimeter and soldering iron.
We started in September 2015, and are a small and sociable group who meet at my house (in Hucclecote) usually on the first Friday of the month. We can attempt to answer your queries about electronic items, whilst building our own circuits over a mug of tea/coffee and biscuits.
Give it a try.
We also expanded into the building of a "Robot" to compete in the u3a Robot Constructors Challenge, where in 2019 we came 2nd, and in 2022 we came 1st - a fantastic achievement. This opens out the subject of electronics to consider and implement various engineering challenges.
