Chess

We are a small group which meets TWICE a month, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10am each month. The first 15 minutes is taken up with coaching and solving problems using a chess demonstration board. After a short break for refreshments the members take part in chess games. Beginners are given instruction in the laws of the game and tactics in a separate room.

About 90 UK U3A’s are already linked by members playing chess by email. Two of our members are taking part in the recently formed U3A Chess League on the internet.

Use the Calendar to find out when this group meets, and any special events they may hold.
( Remember to use the filter box (white box), and the drop-down menu, to focus on the group you are interested in. )
