Now we are able to meet indoors the cost to hire the facility is £20 for 2 hours to cover costs of heating and caretaker etc.
DESCRIPTION: We welcome acoustic players of all instruments and abilities and our group members are a mixed group of abilities who meet together. The group has been active since 2013 and we paly an eclectic mix of popular and traditional songs - please see our songbook index via the link on this page.
The styles of music played are as diverse as members wish - folk, jazz, blues, classical, pop, bluegrass, heavy metal?!? - as long as it can be played on portable acoustic instruments. Just get in touch to express an interest, dig out your acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, autoharp, dobro, banjo, resonator, cajon or whatever and let's play! Although we began with mainly fretted instruments we would welcome relaxed players of other types of acoustic instruments too.
It is a big step for a player to go from solo lessons and practising at home to playing with other people but it is very rewarding and leads to a definite improvement in playing skills. We are happy to play almost any type of music from folk songs through bluegrass and ‘60s classics to modern originals.
