I wish to confirm that the Garden group have agreed that we shall cancel/ postpone our next few monthly meetings.
I apologise to anyone who has not received my message, and to those new members hoping to join the group.
We have said that we shall keep in touch for mutual support, and I shall take some photos around my garden and send them round to everyone from time to time.
Please do the same if you feel inclined.
Here’s hoping that you all remain well,
GardenGroup leader. March 15th 2020
Our Gardening group has been running for nearly three years and has been steadily growing. Our members have varying degrees of gardening expertise and varying spaces in which to garden.
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2pm, unless an interesting visit becomes available on a different day, when we change it by mutual agreement.
We visit different open gardens, according to season, arranging a group visit with the different garden owners. We do tend to enjoy the places offering tea and cake as an extra. We also visit local garden centres, usually on a prearranged basis, when we often have a guide.
In addition we have meetings in members homes, when we select a topic to discuss, exchange advise and ideas and swap plants.
We have also had sessions taking cuttings, making plant supports and Hypertufa troughs, and exploring the possibility of keeping hens!
This is a very friendly group with room for more interested people.
For our November meeting, Tuesday 19th November, we visited the Welland Vale Garden Centre in Uppingham.
December meeting......Group Christmas lunch at Jackson Stops, Stretton, Tuesday 10th December. Booking is essential for this.
I shall shortly publish the list of visits we have arranged for the first part of the new year, when I have final confirmation.
