**PLEASE NOTE THAT IN LIGHT OF THE RU3A COMMITTEE'S DECISON ON COVID 19, MEETINGS OF THE MAH JONG GROUP HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.**
If you wish to join the Group when life gets back to normal you can still contact me and I will add your details to my list. I will then contact you when we start playing again.
What is a chow a pung or a kong ?
Could you make a Wriggling Snake, The Gates of Heaven or triple Knitting?
These are all terms used in a game over 2000 yrs old whose invention is attributed to Confucius.
Revised in the 19th Century, Mah Jong is still an extremely popular game all over the world.
There are several versions of this game, we use the British Rules (with a Rutland slant).
We are a self taught group so never mind if you have never played before, if you can play Rummy you can play Mah jong.
If you are an experienced player then again you would be most welcome to share your knowledge with us.
We now meet 10-12 every Wednesday morning, downstairs in the backroom of the Lord Nelson pub in Oakham.
So if want to see what it is all about, come and join us, it really is fun.
Please note that although the group runs every week there is no need to attend every session.
